How to Organize with the Project Keeper

This project tracking system is made in collaboration with The Loose Ends Project. Keep all details of any project organized so you can easily switch between works-in-progress and refer back to works completed. This tidy file box is a great way to track and archive knitting, crochet, quilting, spinning, needlework, and more. You may develop your own unique system for the Project Keeper, but here's how we like to use it.

A portion of every Project Keeper and Folders & Tags sold will be donated to Loose Ends to support their mission. Learn more at LooseEnds.org.

How We Use the Project Keeper

1

Assemble Project Keeper box

Easy assembly instructions are included with the Project Keeper box. Just lift up the walls, line up the pre-punched holes, and pop in the screws. (No assembly required for the lid.)

2

Write project info on tag

Write your project info (such as the pattern name, size, materials, etc.) on a printed or blank tag. You can also use the back of a printed tag for additional notes.

3

Keep tag with your WIP

Stash the filled-in tag with your WIP. A few ideas:

Setting your project down for a little while? With a filled-in tag stashed in your project bag, you won't have to worry about forgetting the details when you return to it.

Project not working out this time? Simply circle "frog" on the tag to remind yourself (or someone else) to save time and rip it out.

A

Pro Tip! Snip off a length of your project's yarn and tie it through the tag's pre-punched hole. This makes it faster to identify which tag goes with which project at a glance.

4

Label a folder

Write your project name on the tab of a folder. Store the folder in your Project Keeper box.

5

Store extras in folder

Rather than carrying them around with your WIP or wondering where else to put them, you can store your swatch, yarn labels, and any other little extras in your project's folder in the box.

6

File finished project's tag in folder

Once your project is finished, file the tag in the corresponding folder.

7

Refer back as needed

Now you have a neat record of your completed projects! This makes it easier to refer back to specific project details and provides a permanent storage space for your swatches, yarn labels, Sweater Worksheets, printed patterns, and more.

Our Collaboration with The Loose Ends Project

♥︎

In the unfortunate event that a crafter is no longer able to complete their projects, it can bring their family comfort to have a finished object from a loved one. Founded by Jennifer Simonic and Masey Kaplan (both avid knitters), Loose Ends aims to ease grief, create community, and inspire generosity by matching volunteer handwork finishers with projects people have left undone due to death or disability.

A portion of the proceeds from every Project Keeper and Folders & Tags sold will be donated to Loose Ends to support their mission.

♥︎

In addition to keeping your WIP info orderly, the Project Keeper offers you the opportunity to communicate clear instructions to your family should you leave unfinished projects behind. Leaving details with each project (patterns, sizes, materials, and recipients) takes the guesswork out of the equation and increases the chances that your project will be finished the way you intend.
