7 More Sweater Patterns with Unique Details

Since publishing our first collection of 7 Sweater Patterns with Unique Details, Julie has designed even more sweaters with eye-catching features that deserve a special spotlight of their own. These patterns have that classic Cocoknits combination of timeless style and thoughtful construction, with a few fun details to make them extra special.

The Delight is in the Details...

1

Gillian's Peplum Flare

Inspired by the enchanting (and ever-so-stylish) actress Gillian Anderson, our Gillian cardigan takes the classic cardi structure and gives it a feminine twist. The pattern includes two different peplum options, depending on your penchant for frilly drama.

Paloma's Drop Shoulders with Cable Increases

A roomy V-neck pullover with drop shoulders is nothing new (especially these days!), but Paloma sets itself apart with the addition of dainty cable increases along the back shoulder and armhole edge.

If you'd prefer a cardigan version, check out our Beatriz pattern and (optional) On Demand Class.

Elliott's Zipper & Hood

Elliott has three distinct elements that set it apart from your typical handknit cardigan: a hood, a zipper, and front pockets. Look closely, and you'll also notice a dainty decorative reverse stockinette band above the sleeve cuff.

If you're intimidated by the idea of sewing a zipper into your knits, we have a free tutorial to help!

For a zipper-free pullover version, check out our Tracy pattern and (optional) On Demand Class.

Flynn's Folded Collar & Diagonal Pockets

Our answer to the commercial polyester "fleece" vest, Flynn has a zipper (like Elliott, above), as well as an extra warm folded collar and roomy diagonal pockets.

Mercedes' Back Band

Mercedes is a swingy A-line slipover with a scoop neck, open sides, and asymmetrical front and back panels. One of the most defining features is the garter band at the back, attached by decorative buttons. The pattern also includes an I-cord tie option.

Nine Patch's Intarsia Squares

Inspired by vintage quilts, Nine Patch is the perfect pattern for playing with leftover scrap yarn. The colorful squares are made using intarsia - which we have not one, but two tutorials for! The pattern includes instructions for both a cardigan and vest version.

Veronika's Curved Hem

The only non-Cocoknits Method pattern on this list, Veronika has a nostalgically 2010's poncho silhouette with a dramatically curved hemline. The curved shape is created using the YO method of short rows, which adds a lacy detail above the hem ribbing.
