Our Favorite Sweater Patterns for Fall

When the leaves start to fall and the autumn chill creeps in, there's nothing better than wrapping yourself up in a handknit sweater. These designs are some of our favorites for the coziest season of the year - as delightful to knit as they are to wear!

Fall Favorites...

1

Tillie

A sweater so snuggly it's practically pajamas, Tillie plays with ribbing in two directions and has a lot of measurement adjustability written into the pattern. You can choose the Version A sweater (seen here) with long sleeves and a split hem that's longer in the back, or the Version B popover with short sleeves and a split body.

Renee

Renee is a no-fuss oversized sweatshirt that's perfect for the busy back-to-school season. The armholes are extra deep, the sleeves and neckline are extra wide, and the body is slightly cropped. You can finish the bottom hem with simple ribbing, or fold and finish it with three-needle bind-off to create a casing for a drawstring cord.

Sarah

Sarah is a perfect in-between-seasons cardi - just right for cool days in lieu of a coat. The half fisherman rib is not quite as condensed as full fisherman rib, resulting in a lofty, squishy fabric. Dramatically angled drop-shoulders and oversized pockets make Sarah fun to knit and even more fun to wear!

Jesse

Inspired by the classic Irish fisherman sweater, Jesse's vintage charm perfectly accompanies the nostalgia of fall. The cables are worked over the front, back, and sleeves, with moss stitch on the sides and underarms. The ribbed shawl collar crosses and joins below the neck, providing extra comfort.

Toni

Grab a pumpkin spice latte and your apple-picking basket, because Toni is the quintessential fall garment. This classic grandpa cardigan has a V-neck, incorporated button band (aka, no picking up stitches after), and two options for pocket styles. Rosa

Rosa is a classic ribbed pullover with a round neckline and split hem. Keep it handy to pull on over a tank top or dress during those unpredictable fall days, or wear it as a sleek and comfy top when the autumn chill finally settles in.

Andie

Andie is everything you love about a classic pullover but with plenty of added personality. Details like the dramatic drop shoulders, full sleeves, cropped body, and cable increases along the back shoulder make it easy to dress up or down, while the deep-U neckline and an oversized fit ensure it's super comfy.

Beatriz

Beatriz is a comfy oversize jacket cardigan with drop shoulders and deep ribbing on the hem and cuffs. The extra-roomy body proportions make it easy to toss on over anything, even another sweater! It's as comfy to wear curled up with a book as it is on a brisk autumn stroll.

Ruth

Ruth has a classy-yet-comfy sophistication that evokes the feeling of reading by a crackling fire with a cup of hot tea. The folded shawl collar gently hugs the back of your neck, and the split sides add to the ease and wearability of this sweater.
