I love working cables but I don’t love wearing them, so then it became a challenge to design a cabled sweater that I would wear. Mishke is the result: cables done cocoknits’ style, completely askew and seamless.

Skills Needed

General knitting skills plus reading charts and knitting cables.

Finished Measurements

  • Bust: 35 (39, 42, 46, 50, 54)"
  • Length: 20.5 (20.5, 21.5, 23, 24.25, 24.25)" — appox at center back; sides will hang down longer

Materials

Yarn Options

  • 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) skeins Malabrigo Rios (100% Superwash merino wool, 210 yards/100 grams); sample knitted in Paris Night, or

  • 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) skeins Madeline Tosh DK (100% superwash merino wool,  225 yards/100 grams); sample knitted in Tart

Needles

  • US #7 needles or size needed to obtain gauge; long circ (35" or longer) are easiest to accommodate all sts
  • Long circ for magic loop or dpn #7 for sleeves

Gauge

18 sts and 25 rows = 4" square in St st.

Errata

Back

  • Reattach yarn and on RS of Back:
  • Row 1: k1, sssk, work as est to 4 sts before m, k3tog, k1, turn, leaving sleeve sts on hold.
