Free shipping for shops in the U.S. will end September 30, 2022. Beginning October 1st all wholesale orders shipping within the U.S. will now have $38 Flat Rate shipping.
No matter how much you order, or what size products you purchase, you will only pay $38 for shipping. (see below for more info on how we determined this)
International shipments will return to actual USPS Priority International shipping charges, without the $30 discount starting October 1st
We encourage you to place stock-up-for-Holiday orders now to take advantage of the last weeks of free shipping and be fully prepared for sales in the upcoming season. The codes LYSLOVE and LYSLoveInternational will expire on September 30th.
Why is free and reduced shipping ending?
Since March 2020 we have offered free shipping to U.S. shops and $30 off for international shops in an effort to ease the strain that the pandemic has put on small businesses. The costs of manufacturing, shipping, and warehousing continue to rise significantly, and offering free shipping is no longer sustainable for us.
How does this benefit shops?
Cocoknits charges shipping for retail orders (direct-to-customer orders) on Cocoknits.com. This incentivizes customers to purchase from their LYS.
Now that wholesale orders have a fixed shipping cost, you can plan orders knowing in advance how much shipping will cost, and incorporate that fixed shipping cost into your pricing. This ultimately provides savings to the retail customers when purchasing Cocoknits products from you, their LYS.
Why charge $38 for shipping?
We did a deep analysis of our actual shipping costs for U.S. Wholesale shipments and found that $38 would cover most of our costs in the long run. Cocoknits products have a very wide range of dimensions and weights which makes shipping complicated and estimating shipping costs for individual orders even more complicated. $500 worth of Stitch Stoppers ships differently than $500 worth of Knitter’s Block Kits.
The $38 figure we determined is slightly less than our average shipping cost, and is under 10% of the average wholesale order value. The best part is that you can order Knitter’s Blocks, Maker’s Boards, and other large or heavy products without incurring additional shipping costs!
