Skills Needed

Circ knitting. You must know how to felt (or be willing to learn!). You also need to know how to circular knit using two needles or how to use dpn’s.

Sizes

Small (medium, large)

Measurements are diameter across the top x height:
4” x 4” (6” x 6”, 7”x 5”).

Materials

Yarn

Small amounts of Cascade Yarns “Eco Wool or Eco Wool+” (478 yards/skein). Or other heavy worsted feltable wool.

Needles

24” circular #11 needles. To complete decreases on the bottom, either use another circular #11, (any length) or #11 double pointed needles.

Gauge

Not important since we are felting.

Abbreviations

See the cocoknits glossary for a list of abbreviations.

Repeat rnds 1 and 2 until you have 15 sts on first half, 25 sts on second half. Now beg with rnd 1 of size small and finish as for small.

Finishing

You may want to loosely tie pieces of thread to mark either edge of the shorter side, it will be hard to identify it once the pocket is felted. Felt and shape; lay the short side flat on a surface and stuff towels in to get the pocket shape. Allow to dry.

You can insert grommets to fortify the holes, or nail them directly to the wall. Either way, attach approx 2” down at the very outer edges of the short side (the side against the wall) otherwise the pocket will sag forward when you fill it.

Enjoy!
