tips and techniques in person

I just returned from two back-to-back trunk shows with Habu Textiles! We had a great time at Black Sheep Yarn Shop (Baltimore) and Loop (Philadelphia). One of the best parts of visiting yarn shops and teaching workshops is knitting with people in-person and sharing tips and techniques.

I’ve posted several tutorials on the cocoknits site (casting-on, binding off, picking up stitches), which are part of the European Finishing class, but I love answering questions and showing techniques first-hand. And knitters can see the results by looking at finished garments up close and trying them on.

Thanks to both yarn shops for a lovely, lively trip!

“We love having Julie come to our shop to teach and share her talents. Our customers particularly enjoy the “What not to knit” class which gives them the opportunity to try on her designs and select a pattern that flatters their figures.  It’s so fun to see them wearing all the fabulous Cocoknits designs!  We can’t wait to have her return to our shop!”

  1. Wish you would come and visit the LYS’s in the western NY state area (i.e. Buffalo, NY)! I love your designs, having knitted some of them up (Liesl being my favorite). Always get raving comments when I wear them…even from total strangers!
